Tamid Photo Essay in Lego® #15

The Shot

Final Check

The Tamid lamb takes a drink of water as the Kohanim inspect it for blemishes.

The Story

You are here
Just before the Tamid lamb was slaughtered it was given a drink of water which made it easier to remove its skin as it was processed. It was also inspected for blemishes one final time. This was done by torchlight since the sun had not yet risen at this point and it was still quite dark inside the Azarah.

The lamb was slaughtered in one of 24 iron rings attached to the Azarah floor that would be used to hold the animals in place. These rings were located to the north of the Outer Mizbeyach.

The Setup

This shot is modeled and rendered in Bricklink Studio (read more about this process in my introduction). The default light is set to zero. The torches are in the usual Luminous Soft Amber and I added another spotlight in the same color, enclosed in black bricks, directly above the scene. A small plate in Luminous Blue provides some soft sky color.

The rings in the floor are modeled in Metallic Silver and made from 1x1 round plates attached by the 6190 Telephone Handset.
