Another Minor Ramp for the LEGO® Altar

In honor of my recent Shavuos presentation I needed to create a working minor ramp to the Sovev because one of the featured korbanos was the animal chatas. This is an update to this post. The reason I had been putting this off is the tricky angles on many of the edges. Unlike the minor ramp to the Yesod (on the western side of the Altar) which slopes down at the same angle as the main ramp and can therefore use the same 2x2 sloped bricks, the minor ramp to the Sovev takes a much shallower angle from its point of departure until it reaches its destination. Here is what I came up with.

There are three angles that need to be addressed. The most important one is the surface of the ramp itself, from where it leaves the main ramp just below its midpoint until it reaches the Sovev. My solution was to use a stack of 1x2 bricks (and some plates) to form a surface that fills the distance between the main ramp and Sovev. This stack was then sandwiched between a 6-stud tile on the left and a 8-stud plate on the right which held the surface at just the right angle. [Some would argue that this is an illegal connection.]

This approach leaves unsightly gaps between the ramp surface and ramp body, and the side studs shown above will hold 1x8 tiles that can be positioned to cover these gaps somewhat (see below).

The second angle to be addressed is where the minor ramp meets the main ramp. The closest I came to matching this angle is with the same sloped bricks used in the main ramp. (Special thanks to Mark at Badges Buttons Plus for the custom printed Kohen minifig torso.)

The final angle to be addressed is where the minor ramp meets the Sovev. I did not come up with a good way to fill this gap.

All in all, this is a working prototype, hastily assembled, and not quite a finished piece. It is also not attached to the main ramp or Altar. If anyone has some good ideas how to optimize this build, please comment below.
